Both the Dalai Lama and Richard Gere were hosted at Bagni di Pisa spa hotel throughout the three-day event which included a public talk on 20th September by His Holiness at the Piazza del Cavalieri in Pisa and a two-day Science Symposium on 20th and 21st September in Pisa, Italy.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Richard Gere join a long roster of notable persons who have stayed at the illustrious hotel over the centuries, including Elton John, Billy Idol, Gustav of Sweden, George IV of England and Mary Shelley.
Bagni di Pisa, part of Italian Hospitality Collection, is the 18th century summer residence of the Grand Duke Francesco Stefano of Lorena. Immersed in the greenery of the Parco degli Ulivi the hotel has been brought back to its former splendour and the frescoed hallways, Tuscan terracotta and marbled floors evoke a time when VIPS of yesteryear stayed here.
The property lies above natural hot springs and its ancient thermal pools are renowned for their soothing and healing properties. A vast natural spa which specialises in holistic healing, weight loss, detoxification and relaxation treatments offers the complete experience of physical and mental cleansing.
